Fan of the Week: Marie of Adventures in Craziness

A few months ago I added a “Fan of the Week” app to my Facebook page. It was a fun way to “reward” my readers for connecting with me. In fact, it has been more rewarding for me! I’ve learned that I “know” so many of my readers, both locally, family members or from places I’ve lived. And then there are all of my readers whom I have never met, and yet still “know”.

That is exactly the kind of community that I am aiming for here. Moms who can connect with each other, share their ups and downs and acknowledge that motherhood is, indeed, very important.

The fan of the week app chooses one of my Facebook fans randomly, from a group of fans who engage on my page. In return, I’ve also written up a short sentence about my relationship with that particular fan. However, I’d love to kick things up a notch and give my fans just a little more love! I think all of my fans have a lot to share and a lot of ways to help us grow as moms. So, I’m going to do a featured post on my Fan of the Week every Wednesday!

Marie and Emily

Here is a very pregnant Marie holding one week old Emily!

This week’s fan is my friend Marie! Marie lives about an hour away from me, though I see her quite a bit as she uses the doctor here in town and she does a lot of her bigger shopping here. Sometimes she even visits us at Holy Cross Lutheran Church! She is the proud Mama to two little girls, her oldest is about 5 weeks younger than my twins, and her baby is just a few weeks old (I got to hold her when she was super fresh!).

Marie is a super busy wife and mother. She is the Zone President of our LWML zone, she maintains several websites around the state, she bakes super cute cakes (like this one that I ordered for a baby shower), and she blogs at Adventures in Craziness. (Phew! Did all of that make you tired just reading it? Yep…me too!)

One of my favorite parts about Marie is that she grew up the oldest in a large family (even bigger than ours). I grew up in a much smaller family, so I like to see how the family dynamics work out for her. Marie’s youngest sister is 4!

Marie knows that she can come to me with all kinds of mothering questions, and I love lending a hand. Just last week we had a fast fingered discussion on oversupply!

You should hop on over to Adventures in Craziness and say hi! Let her know Dakotapam sent you!
