Hickory Farms and Holiday Traditions
Friday night our UPS truck dropped off a Hickory Farms gift basket to my home. And with that box came a flood of memories. I had the joy of sharing some of my past holiday excitement with my kids!
Growing up I always remember having Hickory Farms gift boxes around Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don’t know where they came from, whether far flung relatives, gifts from local friends, or incentives from my parents jobs. It is possible my mom picked up the gift boxes from the shopping mall herself. I always remember Hickory Farms stores popping up in the mall right around this time of year. I remember looking at the neatly packed box with little jars of mustard and boxes of crackers and cheeses and sausages. Sometimes there were little candies tucked into the corners.
Well, Friday night, my kids got to enjoy the wonderment of lifting the lid off of our Party Planner gift box and reading off the names of all of the goodies inside. Later we enjoyed some sausage and cheese during our family movie night. I mentioned in my post about simplifying Thanksgiving preparation that I prepare a tray of meat and cheese for snacky family members, Hickory Farms gift trays make this so easy!
Shipping is only $3 for 3 day shipping. Hickory Farms has also partnered with No Kid Hungry this year, and hopes to raise more than $700,000 for this cause. For every Party Planner Gift Box sold this year, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to No Kid Hungry.
Have loved ones serving overseas? Consider sending them a Home for the Holidays gift box, or the Summer Sausage and Cheese gift box or the Warm and Hearty Welcome box. All three of these offer free shipping to APO?FPO military addresses.
Chime in! What are some of your fondest holiday memories? Did they include Hickory Farms? Do you have a favorite product? You know I’d love to hear from you!
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Hickory Farms and received a product sample to facilitate my review.
I loved those strawberry candies.
We did not get any this year in our package. I hope they didn’t discontinue them.
We would get Hickory Farms as a kid. I only liked the strawberry candies that came in it though!
) We’ve given them as Godparent gifts in the past.
Favorite food memories? Brussel sprouts served only at holiadys (I loved those!), My Mom’s homemade dinner rolls. Now, it is warm homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning.
I'm glad to know that I was not imagining the strawberry candies! Loved them!
