#LittleChefs eBook, and a Chef Boyardee Giveaway!
This past few months I have been working on a really fun project with Chef Boyardee and the Motherhood. I’ve been working alongside 39 other incredible bloggers to crowdsource an eBook on cooking with kids!
I had the great pleasure of working with 7 other bloggers on the “Feel Like a Kid Again” chapter. You may have remembered some Facebook and twitter conversations that some of us had surrounding our childhood memories in the kitchen and how to get the kids more involved.
This eBook is super fun (and free!). It is chock full of photos, great tips, and ideas from real moms like you! What is really fun is as you scroll over great ideas, there are hyperlinks leading back to the bloggers who wrote about their experiences, so it is a great way to discover new blogs as well! I worked with some pretty talented bloggers and I’d love if you can check them out!
They are:
Annie Stow, Stowed Stuff
Carrie McLaren, Carrie with Children
Connie Ott, MiscFinds4u
Heather, www.ourkidsmom.com
Leigh Powell Hines, Hines-Sight Blog
Tiffany Merritt, Stuff Parents Need
I really value spending time with my kids in the kitchen. I cook for quite a crew, so I am in the kitchen a long time; sometimes time in the kitchen with mom is some of the best quality time in a day. Lately the twins have been getting me into a baking mood (well, maybe I’m not in the baking mood, but they sure are!)
In my house, wearing an apron is a big deal. (Which is a little funny as I often forget to wear mine, though I have quite a collection!). Add a chef hat, and something magical happens in the kitchen!
Well, I have good news! Something magical is going to happen in one of my reader’s kitchens! Chef Boyardee is sending one of my awesome readers an awesome Little Chefs gift set! It includes:
- Kids’ kitchen measure and prep kit
- Kids’ recipe box
- Scrapbook album
- 2 Chef Boyardee chef hats
- Chef Boyardee adult apron
- Chef Boyardee child apron
- Chef Boyardee pizza kit
- Time capsule
- 2 coupons for free Chef Boyardee Beefaroni
- 5 Chef Boyardee recipe cards
It is super easy to enter! Simply download the free eBook and leave a comment telling me your favorite tip from the book!
On Friday, November 2, 2012 I will select 1 (one) random winner via “And the Winner Is. . .”. You must be a US resident and be over the age of 18 to enter. Make sure that you leave a valid email address as this is the only way for me to contact my winner!
I LOVE the kid vs. grown up cook off idea!!! What a fun way to get kids to try new kinds of food. That would definitely go over well in our house, we’re going to have to try that!
I love the Time Capsule myself!

I am sure helping me in the kitchen would get Sylvia to eat more things. (Naomi eats everything I put on her tray!) I just have to get out of my comfort zone and have her help me even if that means making a big mess. So after reading a bit of the e-book Sylvia and I made some interesting Chocolate Chip Cookies! I will post the recipe on my blog after bath and bedtime for my girls.

I can’t wait to see! We baked a cake yesterday, the girls wanted it to be purple. So we added blue and red food coloring to lemon cake batter. We managed a cake the exact color of wet cement. . .some day you might need that for one of your cakes!

Here is my Not So Original Chocolate Chip Cookie post! It will go live on my blog at 9 am but here is the short link so that any night owls/early risers can read it here first! http://www.adventuresincraziness.com/?p=768
Awesome! I just may need that color of cake someday! Hmmm… I am seeing a bricks and mortar sort of cake.

What a cute project! I think getting kids involved in the kitchen is a great idea! When J is up to it, he loves to stand next to me washing veggies and over-pouring salt on food. I hope my husband doesn’t notice
. I DLed the book! Tks!

And I wasn’t actually able to DL the book, just read it. And my favorite tips are about family time and teachable lesson. Reading L to R, etc.

I love this. We have two that are being schooled at home via cyberschool so we have more at home lunches than usual. We have started them cooking their own lunches and breakfasts so I especially love “The teachable moments” Our 9 yr old boy has been an especially picky eater while he complains of constant hunger. Now he is thinking of recipes and using his fraction skills etc. He is becoming an ever increasingly adventersome eater. Great giveaway!
That is very cool! Kids learn so much while helping in the kitchen! Thanks for chiming in!

I love that it has kid-friendly recipes! I remember making a few ‘signature’ dishes when I was kid (I’m talking apple slices with peanut butter wrapped in a slice of cheese!)…I felt so proud that I made them myself!

I wasn\’t able to download it, but I like the Fun with Flavors section. I am always looking for different ways to get my son to eat different things! I think my son would like the Bacon Ranch Pizza!
I like bacon ranch anything!
