Our Visit With Flat Stanley
My niece, Rylee, sent her friend Flat Stanley to visit us last month. And then I got super busy and I cleaned my kitchen counter and I might have even lost him for a little bit.
I knew that I had to show Stanley a good time! He was visiting all the way from California . . . and I wanted to show that North Dakota was very different from California!
Since it is in our neighborhood, we took a walk and let Stanley visit our Capitol!
Now, North Dakota’s Capitol Building has been in the news recently, because some folks in Minnesota think that it is ugly. Well, I for one, find our Capitol beautiful. . .and accessible too! We visited last Saturday. During that time we saw at least three different wedding parties having photographs taken on the steps of the State Library. We walked right into the Capitol building and we even had a tour guide all to ourselves (we really just wanted to get to the top floor. . .so he used his special key to get us there faster!).
Our Capitol building was built in the middle of the Great Depression and is a picture of prairie pragmatism. We love it!
As you can see, we also took Stanley over to the Heritage Center. He almost got eaten by a dinosaur, but now he is safely on his way back to California.

Chime in! If Flat Stanley visited your town, where would you take him?
Ha, I love that you took Flat Stanley around to all the sites. It reminds me of a time when some friends stole another friend’s superhero (yes, an adult who collects action figures) … and they’d send ransom notes with photos of the action hero at random places around town. It was darn funny to those of us who helped with the ransom notes. =)

I love Flat Stanley! Will he visit the world?? I’d take him to all the monuments, if I had time, and of course all the good eateries. I used to do this photo thing with Hoops and Yoyo from hallmark. It was fun.
