But Bel is hiding something. Though she won’t talk about it, Sara soon learns that Bel has been through a hellish ordeal. And she has the burn marks to prove it.
Runaway Saintwas an enjoyable, but not an easy read. There was family dynamics, a mysterious aunt, and broken and mended relationships. I found that I wanted to keep reading in order to piece the story together. This was a wonderful vacation read.
Lisa Samson is a gifted author who has skill at creating believable, relatable characters. I enjoy Christian fiction, but I enjoy it more if it is not overly preachy, or trying to “sell” religion. Samson is successful in writing a faith filled storyline while remembering that conversion does not equal perfection.
There were several times when I felt that the story lagged, and I wanted to nudge it forward, but overall it was an enjoyable read that I recommend to my friends and readers.
