Virtual Coffee: March 1, 2011
Welcome to Virtual Coffee!
If we were really meeting for coffee, I’d have to blush a little and offer you a Coca Cola (my other very favorite beverage).
You see, my coffee ended up tasting yucky today. I’m not sure why, I used the exact same coffee that I used yesterday, and my pot and machine were sparkly clean. However, every once in a while I brew a pot that tastes off. This happened a lot more when I used to set the timer on my coffee maker, I found that very fresh water made for better coffee. So, I’m not sure what happened, but it is a Coke day today!
I’d also apologize for falling behind on the laundry, again! First, I took a day off, and then the weekend hit (which means that the boys clean their room), and then, last night, my 11 year old was hit by a stomach bug. So, I am once again, as usual, buried in laundry.
If we were really meeting for coffee you would notice how well the girls are walking and that Emily even runs! They are so funny to watch. They look like two little old ladies following each other around!
The girls are also feeling a little like celebrities. There was a photo shoot last Friday for the Bismarck Tribune. The girls were two out of nine babies born to our Moms Club in 2010. That is a quite a baby boom for our club. So the photo of all of the babies made the front page of the Saturday paper. I’m pretty sure that photographer is up for a raise! It was a very difficult shot to get!

New Member welcome 2/27/11
Sunday was a big day for Holy Cross Lutheran Church. We had our first new member welcome! A pretty nice looking group!
Andrew started Track practice yesterday. I’m pretty proud of his athletic dedication. He said it was warm enough to run in shorts. It was 27 degrees. Gee, I wonder where he gets that from, I don’t wear socks if the temperature is above zero. We are made for North Dakota, I tell you!
After falling off of the meal planning wagon while the Rev.’s dad was visiting, I am getting back to it. Today I have beef stroganoff in the slow cooker. That is the yummy smell you smell!
Ethan’s first grade play is Thursday night! I can’t wait. He has been practicing his two lines and he says them really great! The play is stone soup. I may have to make some soup for dinner on Thursday.
- The bride who gets to meet her son today!
Oh, and I get to go and buy another box of sweet baby things! My cousin Stephanie is in labor and pushing as I write this! She is the same little girl that I used to babysit, that same little girl who smeared peanut butter all over the walls! I am so excited for her and her husband Tim!
So, Chime In! If we were having coffee, what would you have to tell me? Do you have any tips for perfect coffee every time? You know I’d love to hear from you!
I had the same thing with my coffee this morning. But I was so tired that I drank it anyway. And I swear that my husband makes better coffee than I do, even though we make it exactly the same.
We saw our son in the class play last week, it was Great Americans and he played Orville Wright. As for laundry, don’t talk to me about that! I finally got caught up but we had a break in the weather and I was out digging in my garden and let it pile up again, which is what I should be doing right now!
Sounds like you had a busy week!

Just stopping by to say hi, Pam. I like your idea of virtual coffee. (I like the idea of any coffee!)
Hugs,
