An Instant Pot is great. Instant Pot Accessories supercharge your pressure cooker! Read on to find out what the must-haves are for your new Instant Pot!

It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with my pot. Every recipe I find, I wonder if I can convert it for my Instant Pot.  “But can I make it in my Instant Pot?” is a constant question. The answer to that question is yes, you can convert most recipes, but you might need some accessories.

Accessories for your Instant Pot

So yeah, I’m a fan of the Instant Pot. To be honest, that took me by surprise. But then, I started to shop for Instant Pot accessories! I am a girl who knows that accessories are everything!

Folks, the Instant Pot is not just for main dishes.  If you’ve looked around at all you will see eggs (Starbucks Sous Vide style) to ribs, to even cheesecake!  In fact, dessert seems to be a very popular option for the Instant Pot. Like this Creme Brulee or mini lava cakes.

Here are some accessories you should stock up on if you decide to get more adventurous with your Instant Pot:

An extra inner pot for your Instant Pot

Having a second pot is nice if you are making more than one thing for dinner.  Make your chicken breasts in one, and your rice in the other. It saves time since you don’t have to wash your inner pot in between.  Or, if you’re making yogurt, that has to chill overnight, you’d have an extra inner pot so your Instant Pot isn’t out of commission while your yogurt cools.  (Yogurt making lesson coming soon!)

Extra Sealing Rings for your Instant Pot

Instant Pot Sealing rings

A lot of people have extra sealing rings for the lid of their Instant Pot.  The reason these are colored is so you can differentiate for different foods- sweet and savory.  Sometimes the flavor of the foods you cook in your pot can get stuck in the sealing ring- so you could end up having cheesecake that tastes like the BBQ ribs you ate last night.  For the most part, you may notice an odor on your sealing ring–usually a trip through the dishwasher will remove the odor–and I have never had flavors actually transfer. However, some people just feel better about having the extra rings, so here they are!

Springform Pan for your Instant Pot

7 inch Springform pan

This 7-inch pan will fit in 6 and 8 quart Instant Pots.  Not only have I seen this used for cheesecake, but I have also seen it used for regular cakes, including Pineapple Upside-Down cake! Technically, the pan pictured is a “push pan” but it works the same way as a Springform pan withoutt extra seams to get gunked up.

Silicone Egg Mold for your Instant Pot

Do you love Starbucks Sous Vide Eggs? I do!  You can make them at home for WAY less expense with this egg mold.  Yummy, freezable, microwavable, easy to-go breakfast that the kids will love too!

Steamer Basket for Your Instant Pot

This is perfect for steaming your vegetables in your Instant Pot.  A lot of people cook their hard boiled eggs in a steaming basket as well.

Tempered Glass Lid for Your Instant Pot

Instant Pot Lid

You’ll need a glass lid if you plan to make yogurt or use your Instant Pot as a slow cooker.  Before you buy, though, check your cupboard! You may have a glass lid from your pots and pans that may work perfectly for your Instant Pot!

 Ramekins for Your Instant Pot

Ramekins for Instant Pot

These are perfect for the Crème Brulee and Lava Cakes I mentioned earlier.  One note- if you have something similar to this at home, you can use it, as long as it is oven safe!

Using these accessories will really widen your Instant Pot recipe repertoire.  I’d love to hear if any of you get adventurous this week, and try one or all of these accessories! (Let me know in the comments, or in the Dakotapam Facebook group!)  I’ll see you back here next time for Homemade Yogurt!
